Due to continuous growth, Downer EDI, one of Australia’s largest engineering companies, needed to double the size of its head office facility. Walton Construction was engaged to carry out the fitout of the new floor and complete refurbishment of their existing space to a high quality standard.

Work commenced on the upper floor whilst Downer continued its business operation on the floor below. The project included forming a staircase penetration which was stabilized using carbon fibre strips adhered to the underside of the slab around the perimeter of the opening in lieu of a traditional steel structure.
