PROJECT:73 York Street, Sydney
Architect: Hanson Architects
This small but challenging Inner City Heritage Building Project was awarded to Walton Construction following a traditional tender process.
The project encompassed facade restoration, interior lobby and basement refurbishment. Building access had to be maintained at all times during lobby and facade works - a task which proved to be demanding due to the narrow street frontage and a small lobby containing only one lift.
The latent conditions found during excavation and demolition, and the coordination of new services to integrate with old, also provided formidable challenges. All were easily handled due to the co-operative team effort of the client, Simon Hanson Architects and Walton Construction, which ensured the successful completion of the project. |
