Architect: Bates Smart |
The focus of the design is centered on the stunning
Sydney Harbour backdrop. The luxurious fitout consists
of an uplift oval coffered ceiling, mirrored by a
handmade rug inlaid into the anthracite sabbiata stone,
two elegant meeting rooms, a stone reception desk that
doubles as a cocktail bar for functions and a large
executive boardroom.
The executive board room incorporates two double
sliding doors that glide inside the polished plaster
feature walls leaving a clean sleek look. The ceilings in
the three meeting rooms and the executive board room
incorporate three different ceiling systems interfaced to
create a unique functional acoustic feature.
The Bates Smart design concept had not been done
before, so the complexities of corners and the various
profiles were made up in a core flute model to assist the
process. The construction of the walls fell out of the
usual sequence of works whereby the walls had to be
built and finished with anodized aluminium.
