PROJECT: Myer Family Fitout
Architect: Bates Smart
The new high quality fit out for the Myer Family Office and Trust comprised of a new corporate
open plan office surrounded by senior management offices, meeting rooms and an impressive
board room. The 1700m2 fit out also included a fully equipped catering kitchen, staff
lunchroom / café and a family retreat with views across the Botanical Gardens and the Yarra
River.
Completed within a very tight programme and whilst the building was still under construction,
access to site for material delivery required delicate management and communication with
main contractor security and the project team.
As the Herald Sun Building was still under construction by
the main contractor Bovis Lend Lease general access and
particularly access of materials to the 18th floor was made
difficult and often only possible via the external allimac. This,
combined with a very tight timeframe of only 6 weeks, made
this project a challenge for our project team, who delivered
the project within the expected time parameters to an ecstatic
client.
The project included many highly detailed finishes and fittings
such as herringbone parquetry flooring, and high gloss
reflective ceilings in the reception and entry lobby. The fit out
also included a fully fitted commercial kitchen for catering
purposes as well as state of the art services and security
systems.
