Walton Construction undertook modifications to the existing Qantas business lounge to allow for an increase in seating areas and passenger flow. The works included demolition of existing telephone cubicles and walls, ceilings and floors as well as the removal of existing surface mounted floor boxes to allow installation of the new broadloom carpet throughout the lounge area. The existing seating layout was revised to accommodate Qantas Airways requirements and new joinery spines were installed with upgraded lighting to the café area to enhance the aesthetic look of the lounge area.
Refurbishment of the existing toilet and bathroom facilities incorporated new marble vanities, feature glass walls, architectural basins, eco-friendly tapware and mood lighting.
All works were completed during night shifts to ensure Qantas Airways could continue with the daily operation of the lounge services for their clients.
