PROJECT: Qantas Corporate Offices
Architect: Geyer
Walton was commissioned by Qantas to fit out their new headquarters within the newly
refurbished Herald Sun Building. The 1,700m2 fit-out comprised of new executive suites and
chairman's office, boardrooms and meeting rooms, as well as administrative open plan office
space.
The high quality of the fixtures and fittings was reflected in the timber wall panelling with
stainless steel inlays, as well as the state of the art internal security system and
audio control system. Despite the complexity of the program and access issues
due to the building still being under construction, the project was completed within a record
programme time of only 35 working days.
The project was made difficult through very high security
measures within the building, limiting access to floors and
the number of staff able to work on site. The project was completed within the
original timeframe and with minimal delays and
cost overruns.
