Located in the inner north Brisbane suburb of Windsor, Eildon Apartments is setting the trend as the first new development to begin construction under Brisbane City Council’s Lutwyche Road Corridor Neighbourhood Plan.
Brisbane Housing Company’s signature six-level Eildon Apartments features 55 studio, one and two bedroom apartments designed by Brisbane architects Lambert & Smith.
Cleverly designed kitchens, robes and ensuites have contemporary finishes and the spectacular City views from functional balconies provide integrated indoor and outdoor entertainment. Conveniently located at the centre of Brisbane, just five minutes’ drive from the CBD and close to shops, the Royal Brisbane Hospital medical precinct and Queensland University of Technology at Kelvin Grove.
The project included major rock excavation works for the basement car park, installation of new storm water management system, diversion of existing power lines and installation of a new Energex transformer. Installation of the reinforced concrete foundations and under slab services kicked off new construction works. The slab on ground and levels two to six were of traditional construction with level one being post tensioned transfer slab. Topped with a structural steel roof with metal sheeting, the external façade is a mix of rendered walls, glass and aluminium balustrades and sun screening. Lifts service the 55 apartments and car parks. Completing the project was an upgrade to the footpath with the creation of the new streetscape and retail area.
